California law requires that all children between the ages of 6 and 18 attend school. It is very important for students to arrive to school on time. However, if your child will be 30+ mins. late or absent, please call the office by 9:00 a.m. at 748-4013. You may call at any time of the day or night to leave a message. A phone call is the best way to let us know your child is home. Any student who arrives after the start of the school day must report to the office to receive a pass to class.
Checking Students Out During School Hours
If it is necessary to remove your child from school during the day, please follow the following procedure:
1. Send a note with the child explaining to the teacher the ime of dismissal and who will pick him/her up.
2. Sign the student out in the office. Students will not be permitted to leave campus during the school day unless signed out and accompanied by an adult who is authorized to remove him/her from school (name listed on emergency card).
Contracted Study or Extended Absences
The contracted study policy allows students to maintain the instructional program of the classroom for brief absences (5-10 days). Reasons for which a contracted study would be appropriate include justifiable personal reasons approved by the teacher and principal. If your child misses more than 10 days of school, he/she will be withdrawn. Upon return he/she may be re-enrolled on a space available basis.
Applications for contracted study, available in the office, should be submitted at least five (5) days prior to the first day of absence and must be approved by your child’s teacher and the school principal.
